whispers

Just bought another Dean Koontz book last night after a long hiatus of browsing through used books bookstores. From the title of this journal, you might have guessed what its title is. :)

Well, I haven't read it just now because term in our school's just about to end and I'm swamped with lots of requirements to complete. By the way, for those who are wondering, school term (first semester, that is...I'm in college) commences in June in my part of the world. But based from the initial skimming I made, is Whispers a sequel of another book? I noticed that the whole book was just a "Part 1" and of which book (if it's already written)?

I really don't mind spoilers if it would answer my question. ;) And can anyone give me an impression of the book?
